ODA 2012 - movement strategies

Movement Strategies first became involved in planning for London 2012 Olympics back in 2006 but the first six months of 2012 were a blur of activity for Movement Strategies, with final plans being put in place for the venues, management plans agreed for key stations, (including both Stratford stations, London Bridge and St Pancras) and implementation of a Games-time Analytics function supporting operational decision-making within venues, on the transport network, and in the ‘last mile’.

During the Games themselves we were equally busy, with members of the MS team working shifts in the Operation Rooms at the Olympic Park and ExCeL, and leading the Transport Analytics function from within Transport for London’s Operational hub in Southwark.

Following the post-Games celebrations and wrap-up – and a well-deserved break! – we are now actively involved in supporting Oslo as they develop their bid for the 2022 Winter Olympics.
