London 2012 Olympic Delivery Authority
Movement Strategies first became involved with the planning for the London 2012 Olympics back in 2006 and remained involved right through the planning and design process to post-games planning for legacy events. The first six months of 2012 were an intense period for the Movement Strategies team, with operational plans for the venues being finalised, and crowd management plans for London Bridge, St Pancras, Stratford and Stratford International stations signed off. The team also played an integral role in the development and implementation of a Games-time Analytics function, supporting operational decision-making within venues, on the transport network, and in the ‘last mile’.
During the Games members of the team were working shifts in the Operation Rooms at the Olympic Park and ExCeL, and leading the Transport Analytics function from within Transport for London’s Operational hub in Southwark.
