Freestyle Park
Client: Buro Happold
Freestyle Park is a multi-venue leisure and theme park being planned for the south west of Moscow. Whilst the main feature of Freestyle Park will be a 500m-long, 100m-high ski slope, the site will also include an Aquapark, a science museum a multiplex cinema and numerous retail outlets and entertainment opportunities.
Movement Strategies were engaged as part of the multi-disciplinary team led by Buro Happold, working particularly with the Architects, Fire Engineers, and Transport Planners, and Logistics consultants.
What we brought to the project:
- Defined crowd density standards for different areas in the development
- Demand forecasts for pedestrian footfall in different areas, based on the business plan.
- Capacity assessments to inform design
- Assessed the interface between the venue entrances/exits and the transport interchanges serving the site.
On the basis of our assessment, a series of design changes were recommended.
