Movement Strategies are having a busy summer at festivals and concerts. Either side of Take That’s concerts at Wembley, our staff were on site at Glastonbury and Latitude Festivals – with others to come later in the year.
Undeterred by the variable weather and seriously sticky mud at Glastonbury, Movement Strategies were again observing crowd movement and safety across the site. This included the assessment of the new entry route to the late night venues such as Shangri La and Arcadia (see below). These venues have been a huge success in recent years, attracting large crowds. The flipside is that the venues have become more congested, so the new entry route has been introduced to help maintain the comfort and enjoyment of festival-goers in these popular venues.

Movement Strategies’ observations at the Festival each year help the organisers review the Festival and plan the next. The next Glastonbury Festival will be in 2013, after a year off to make way for the Olympic Games in 2012.
Our team were also on-site observing the crowds at the 2011 Latitude Festival in Suffolk. Even the rainy conditions did not dampen the spirits of the visitors to this vibrant, family-orientated event. Movement Strategies will be advising the organisers on potential improvements for 2012, as well as capturing footage of the crowds at the Obelisk Arena for comparison against other venues and events.
