Inclusive design should be at the heart of any design process. To be inclusive, the needs of people with mobility, visual and hearing impairments, learning difficulties and people from different cultural and religious backgrounds must be respected.

An inclusive environment does not attempt to meet every single need, but by considering people's diversity, inclusive environments break down barriers and overcome exclusion, achieving superior solutions that benefit everyone.

The term 'inclusive design' relates as much to the design process as to the final product through consultation, operational training and information it can bond user experience with professional expertise.

Movement Strategies consultants are Consultant Members of the National Register of Access Consultants (NRAC) and highly respected in this field. Our consultants have extensive experience of advising on the implications of the Equality Act (DDA) and other relevant Legislation in building and event design.

The advice our consultants give is relevant to the design aesthetic, practical and ensures effective accessibility and inclusion while meeting statutory requirements.

Our involvement as accessibility advisors can be at any stage of a project lifecycle – from concept design to audit of the built environment and beyond.

Movement Strategies’ range of services includes inclusive design advice, policy development, inclusive project guidance, stakeholder engagement and consultation, planning, writing design and Access statements, design development, accessibility audits during construction and post-completion, as well as staff training. We are also able to provide 2D and 3D simulations to simulate flows of pedestrians through crowded environments – demonstrating the level of inclusivity for different users.
