A key issue for developers of stadia, venues or events is to demonstrate to local authorities and other stakeholders how the crowds travelling to and from their facilities and events will affect activities in the local area.
Our expertise in transport planning is combined with our know-how in designing for people movement in the venue or at the event. This means that the venue design or operation can be influenced by the transport plan and vice versa – with the overall outcome being journeys that are as short, comfortable and seamless as possible.
We develop a thorough evidence base - including surveys, geographic analysis of journeys and demand forecasts - to provide robust Transport Assessments and develop Sustainable Transport Plans. Subsequently we engage with transport operators, local authorities and other stakeholders to facilitate the development planning process.
Where necessary, we can help to define the most cost-effective enhancements in public transport provision or the quality of the local pedestrian network through de-cluttering, development of new routes and public spaces, and wayfinding.
