Recently dubbed as the “Citta’della Statistica” (New City of Statistics), the ISTAT headquarters will bring together eight offices to provide a connected space for ISTAT workers and public visitors.
We will be supporting the design team to ensure the new headquarters are integrated with the surrounding urban network, providing a seamless experience for those using the site. The multi-floor building will be designed around the people that will use it, with our analysis focussing on the movement of people throughout the whole site and circulating between floors.

We appointed Movement Strategies to lead on the people flow analysis of the new ISTAT site. The Headquarters may span 10 floors and we needed an expert to analyse the pedestrian flow inside the building, for both horizontal and vertical movement,and to ensure the building works for security and daily operations.
For the competition Movement Strategies provided our analysis of the accessibility and demand of the surrounding urban networks. We are very impressed by the dedication and professionalism they’ve shown throughout the whole process. We look forward to working with Movement Strategies on this exciting project.”
